Robert started his career becoming a chef and has an extensive career in hospitality and education spanning more than four decades. Having worked in various aspects of the hospitality industry from chef to entrepreneur in restaurants, bakery and food manufacturing.

His career in education was pathed by his passion for training apprentices.

Moving into education and training Robert has been involved in various sectors of education including Vocational Training, Higher Education, special education and curriculum development. Along this journey enhancing his career development by competing in and judging culinary completions’ and undertaking amongst other programs a Master’s Degree in Gastronomy. 

He is also an active member on various professional association boards including the Australian Institute of TechnicalChefs (AITC) and Home Economics Institute of Australia (HEIA).

In recent years Robert has been co-ordinating the Bachelor of Education (Food Technology) specialisation program at Victoria University preparing the next generation of food professional.

Being a member of professional association and their community of passionate practitioners provides a voice for the profession and broader community. Through these networks we can engage in the conversations of what are the essential learning for future generations of young people, cooks and educators.
